IBM PowerVM Editions

For users ready to get the full value out of their server, IBM offers PowerVM Editions (formerly Advanced POWER™ Virtualization) providing the most complete virtualization functionality for AIX®, IBM i, and Linux® operating systems in the industry. PowerVM Editions include IBM Micro-Partitioning™ and Virtual I/O Server (VIOS) capabilities, designed to help you increase system utilization while applications continue to get the resources they need.

AIX 6 virtualization

The AIX® 6 operating system offers industry-leading virtualization functions such as PowerVM Workload Partitions (WPARs), which allow you to create isolated instances on top of a single AIX 6.1 image. In addition, AIX 6.1 features PowerVM Live Application Mobility, which allows you to move a running application from one server to another.

IBM i virtualization
