Integrated Virtualization Manager

The Integrated Virtualization Manager (IVM) literally allows you to point, click and consolidate workloads with its easy to use browser-based interface. The IVM lowers the cost of entry into IBM Power™ Systems virtualization since it does not require the use of a hardware management console for single system partitioning. With IVM, you can partition a single system, including the creation of LPARs, and management of virtual storage and virtual Ethernet. Best of all, IVM is included at no additional cost with the optional purchase of PowerVM Editions on all Power Systems entry to mid-range models. It is packaged in the Virtual I/O Server.

The Integrated Virtualization Manager is an ideal solution for:

• Smaller to mid-sized businesses looking to consolidate existing workloads onto one or two POWER™ processor-based servers, or
• Businesses with a geographically distributed IT infrastructure which would otherwise require a Hardware Management Console (HMC) for each location, like a organization with many branch locations)
