Announcing the IBM Solution for WebSphere Mobile and Web Applications on PowerLinux

Managing client experience using mobile and web applications has become an essential part of doing business in today’s world. Our new solution for mobile and web applications on PowerLinux leverages a new, leaner version of the WebSphere Application Server called Liberty Profile. Liberty Profile is also ideal for app deployment scenarios that require a small footprint.

Kwik Fit boosts business growth with application services on the IBM PowerLinux platform

Kwik Fit had a problem. As an automobile maintenance and repair company, one of the many services they provide is roadworthiness inspections.

To streamline the client experience, they gave their customers the ability to schedule their inspections over the web, and in very short order the traffic to their website, and in turn their customer and vehicle database, increased dramatically.

Seeing the opportunity to grow their operations, Kwik Fit turned to their business partner, Flexys. Flexys recommended and helped implement a solution built with IBM PowerLinux servers running the MySQL database and a Java Runtime Environment for their web application front end. Thanks to this solution, Kwik Fit is now able to service queries three times faster, while retaining enough infrastructure headroom to sustain growth for at least four more years.
