The following terms apply to Your use of the i5/OS (5761–SS1) Program on a machine that offers user based pricing.
Your authorized use of the Program is limited to the number of processors and to the number of users you were authorized to use on the specific machine when the Program was originally installed. The terms for the number of processors are unchanged.
You must also acquire entitlement for the maximum number of i5/OS Users simultaneously authenticated on the machine (concurrent i5/OS Users). An i5/OS User is a person who accesses the Program via one or more connections, exchanging credentials (form of user identification) directly with the Program or indirectly through application or middleware software supported by the Program.
To authorize i5/OS Users access to the Program who are: (1) employees or similar personnel of Your Enterprise or (2) individuals to whom You provide hosted services, You must have (A) one i5/OS User entitlement for each concurrent i5/OS User or (B) one i5/OS Unlimited Collaboration Users entitlement for the machine.
To authorize i5/OS Users such as customers or business partners, access to the Program who are NOT: (1) employees or similar personnel of Your Enterprise or (2) individuals to whom You provide hosted services, You must have (A) one i5/OS User entitlement for each concurrent i5/OS User, (B) one i5/OS External Access entitlement for the machine, or (C) one i5/OS Unlimited Collaboration Users entitlement for the machine.
An i5/OS External Access entitlement does not entitle any of the following to access the Program: (1) employees or similar personnel of Your Enterprise or (2) individuals to whom You provide hosted services.
Unlimited Collaboration Users
The IBM i platform delivers excellent reliability, manageability, and low cost of ownership for deploying collaborative solutions. With the i5/OS Unlimited Collaboration Users feature, the IBM i platform offers a cost effective option for adding collaboration solutions.
The i5/OS Unlimited Collaboration Users feature provides entitlement for an unlimited number of users who access i5/OS solely for the use of collaboration products.
An i5/OS Unlimited Collaboration Users entitlement allows access to the Program only for the use of the following collaboration products and for no other purpose. Licenses for these products are sold separately:
- IBM Lotus Domino
- IBM Lotus Sametime
- IBM Lotus Quickr (The Domino Version)
- IBM Lotus Quickplace
- IBM WebSphere Portal
or - IBM-approved IBM i appliance solutions *
* An IBM i appliance solution meets the following criteria. All IBM i appliance solutions must be approved by the IBM i Offering Team.
- An IBM i appliance solution runs on a Power Systems server dedicated to a single solution
- IBM i appliance solutions may include, but are not restricted to, document management, security, or printing solutions
- IBM i appliance solutions do not include transaction processing applications, for example ERP or core banking solutions that use the DB2 database
