IBM i V7.1

IBM i installation

  • The IBM i Access for Windows (5770-XE1) Licensed Program (LP) is on the standard media.
  • The IBM i Access for Web (5770-XH2) and IBM i Access Family (5770-XW1) LPs are on the Keyed Stamped media.

PC Installation

  • For customers or business partners who are looking for the DVD-ROM for installation of IBM i Access for Windows on the PC, this is information about the DVD.
  • There is one DVD for 7.1 IBM i Access for Windows which is for both 32-bit and 64-bit AMD processor-based machines.
  • The DVD is called "IBM i Access for Windows". The Order ID for this DVD is SK3T-4098-05. The DVD will contain all the language versions supported.

A copy of the DVD (image of label at right) is included with:

  • new hardware orders that have Operations Console feature codes on the order.
  • hardware and software upgrades.

  • The System i Access for Web (5761-XH2) and System i Access Family (5722-XW1) LPs are on the Keyed Stamped media.

PC installation

  • For customers or business partners who are looking for the PC DVD-ROM for installation of System i Access for Windows on the PC, this is information about the DVD, when it is delivered, and links to information on how to acquire or build another copy of the DVD.
  • There are two DVDs for V6R1 System i Access for Windows, one will contain the install version for 32-bit and 64-bit AMD processor based machines, and the other the 64-bit for the Itanium processor based ones.
  • The PC DVDs are called " System i Access for Windows". The Order ID for this two-DVD set is SK3T-4098-04 for V6R1 these DVDs will contain all the language versions supported.

Instructions for acquiring and installing language versions

The IBM i Access for Windows program can be installed to the PC by several methods. The methods that are discussed in this article:

  • Installing from the PC DVD-ROM. This DVD-ROM is called "System i Setup and Operations".
  • Installing the Licensed Program, 57xx-XE1, to the IBM i server, and then using IBM i NetServer to install the program from the server to the PC.
  • Creating a transform.

Customers will receive a copy of the System i Setup and Operations DVD-ROM with all the supported languages with orders/upgrades of the System i Access Family (57xx-XW1) or with new hardware orders.
