iCluster is the IBM i HA/DR solution based on logical replication. iCluster is based upon IBM i journaling technology and is optimized for near real time replication and geographic dispersion. iCluster provides flexibility for those customers looking to use the second copy of the data on the backup system for read-only access. iCluster's MatchMerge technology and advanced synch check capabilities are designed to enhance data consistency.

iCluster delivers both an enterprise and a small to medium business solution as well as advanced features, such as iBalance, which enables workload balancing and complements the capabilities of a switched disk or geographical mirroring solution.

All iCluster products include a Java-based GUI administrator for configuring and monitoring your high-availability environment remotely through a Microsoft® Windows®-based PC or across the Web via a Web browser. They also include IBM WebSphere® middleware as well as a green screen command and menu-based interface to enable you to integrate high-availability functions into your existing batch routines.

iCluster offers the following functions and benefits:

• Role swapping (fully or partially automated); synchronization checking of file attributes, file contents, IFS attributes, object existence, data area contents, and output queues; monitoring through either green screen or easy-to-understand GUI; automatic resynchronization of out-of-sync objects; and alarms and alerts including e-mail notifications and user-defined thresholds.
• Very high speed replication capabilities that can scale to handle the size of your business and transactional volumes. Replication minimizes the time required for a switch and enables resynchronizations after network outages.
