This document describes the functions provided by the IBM EnergyScale™ technology along with usage examples, hardware and software requirements, and information about which functions are supported on which IBM server offerings. EnergyScale provides functions that help the user to understand and control IBM server power and cooling usage. This enables better facility planning, provides energy and cost savings, enables peak energy usage control and increases system availability. The client can leverage EnergyScale capabilities to customize the power consumption of their IBM POWER6™ processor-based system and tailor it to their particular datacenter needs.
