The service also includes an assessment of the overview of the SQL environment and discusses the enablement of the query optimization techniques. At the end of this service, you will receive a report with recommendations for improving the SQL environment and potential next steps.

Getting Started with AIX with IBM i for Power Systems
This service will create an IBM AIX® logical partition (LPAR) on a Power Systems machine running IBM i that will allow you to add AIX applications support to your IBM i platform. The service will assist with capacity planning of the AIX LPAR and perform the logical partitioning configuration to create them. Depending on your requirements, the AIX LPAR will utilize direct or virtual I/O resources, or a combination of both. A plan to efficiently map AIX LPAR disk storage to AIX system and production directories will be created. The service will install the customer-acquired AIX operating system. AIX will be installed and the AIX environment will be configured for normal startup and operation. The service will also provide skills transfer to you on using the Hardware Management Console (HMC) for AIX startup and shutdown, creating multiple AIX LPAR profiles, and dynamically changing the processor, memory, or I/O hardware configuration of the AIX LPAR. The engagement will conclude by providing you with a configuration summary of your AIX environments.

Getting Started with Linux with IBM i for Power Systems
This service will provide a Linux implementation on Power Systems that will allow IBM i customers to explore the possibilities of Linux running alongside IBM i. The service will establish the logical partition (LPAR) configuration for Linux and install the customer-acquired Linux distribution. Networking configuration will be implemented for the Linux partition and initial user profiles will be defined. The service will establish file serving for Linux using SAMBA, NFS and FTP. The default Web server will be established using Apache HTTP Server. At the conclusion of the engagement you will be provided a configuration summary of the Linux partition.

Getting Started with WebSphere wih IBM i for Power Systems
This service will get your company started with WebSphere Application Server - Express on IBM i. The service will validate the initial installation and setup of a single WebSphere Application Server - Express instance and supporting IBM HTTP Server (powered by Apache) instance on IBM i. These instances will be verified by installing and launching a sample Web application (either the IBM Telephone Directory or IBM Survey Application). An overview of IBM Web Administration as well as a demonstration of the IBM WebFacing Tool, using a sample application, web-enabling a 5250 application will also be provided. Also a detailed overview of strategies and IBM product options available for Web-enabling 5250-based applications, and a mini-strategy assessment and review of next-step development options is provided for exploiting WebSphere Application Server - Express in your environment.

IBM i Performance Assessment and Knowledge Transfer
This service includes remote analysis of system wide performance data focused not only on machine setup but also the applications running on your system. This service uses performance tools to review a variety of factors such as memory pool management, disk utilization, CPU analysis, and Java and database settings. The remote analysis is followed up by a remote review or onsite visit by IBM i performance consultants to share best practices and provide knowledge transfer.

SAP on IBM i Installation Jump-start
Provides for up to a day and a half of on-site installation and skills transfer services from one of our certified SAP on IBM i Basis experts. Our expert will build up a four-system SAP landscape with the core ERP 2005 functionality, interconnected and ready for your implementation partner to start customizing your SAP solution to fit your business. The landscape will include an SAP Solution Manager system, and Development, Test, and Production systems each running SAP ERP 2005. Plus, this also includes skills transfer tutoring for your system administrators, providing them with a jump start on the skills they’ll need to keep the systems running in top form.
Two variants are available, depending on the Power Systems model you have chosen.- 8 hours over two days:

IBM i Security HealthCheck Assessment
To perform a technical security analysis for one partition through scanning and access to the customer's IBM i environment. The major sub tasks are: Investigate the powerful user profiles, those with special authorities, command line access and other significant aspects of the user profiles on the system, Password practices Investigate the use of Group Profiles,Analyze the use of adopted authority and authorization lists, Examine communications and TCP/IP exposures, Examine current system value settings, Examine sensitive output queues and/or job queues, Indicate other miscellaneous exposure areas (default profile entries in job and subsystems descripitons), Document in detail the findings and recommendations for securing the system, based upon these exposures.

Getting Started with Zend and MySQL on IBM i
The service offering will help you get prepared to develop and run applications based on PHP and MySQL on IBM i. Specifically the service will install PHP and MySQL on IBM i, including:- Zend Core for IBM i on one server
- Zend Studio for IBM i on one client
- MySQL for IBM i on one server
In addition to installing the software, the service will include:
- Running sample PHP applications that get data out of DB2 for i and MySQL for IBM i.
- Providing hands-on education on how to manage Zend Core and MySQL for IBM i
- It is the responsibility of the customer to acquire the software to be installed.

Purpose: IBM will conduct a IBM i Availability Assessment which is an analysis of a customer’s IBM i IT infrastructure for potential areas of exposure as well as a review of their system management processes for adherence to best practices. The intent is to identify significant risks and provide recommendations to help mitigate those risks. You will receive a presentation highlighting hardware and system availability exposures along with system and availability management exposures. This offering is conducted remotely.

The BRMS assessment service will provide an analysis for tuning BRMS on your IBM i environment. The BRMS settings including policies, control groups, network setup, logs and others will be reviewed. At the end of this service, you will receive a presentation with best practices and recommendations for improving your BRMS environment. This offering is conducted remotely.

Getting Started with Blade Center and System x Solutions for IBM i
This service will help get your company's Integrated Blade Center and System x environment up and running quickly. The service can be applied towards the installation of an iSCSI attached Blade Center or system x Server solution.The service will include installation of IBM Director on IBM i and creation of configuration objects on the IBM i side. Installation of the customer-acquired Microsoft® Windows ServerTM operating system on the Blade or System x Server will be included. The service will provide a selection of topics including: an overview of the Windows integration support; server administration; user administration; storage management concepts; backup and recovery architecture; virtual Ethernet configuration and concepts; sharing of IBM i tape and CD-ROM devices; problem determination and hardware manager recovery interfaces; and high availability. At the conclusion of the service engagement, you will be provided a configuration summary of the Windows installation. As an alternative to the Windows Server operating system, IBM will assist the customer in setting up and installing VMWare® ESX 3 on an iSCSI attached Blade or System x server, and will assist in setting up configuration to control this ESX Server through the VMWare® Virtual Infrastructure Client. Depending on the model of IBM i, IBM will provide either a day or day and a half on site to assist you in setting up this VMWare configuration. Since VMware and BladeCenter implementations can vary widely, a planning call will be held prior to the service engagement to determine the scope of work and the coverage provided by the service voucher.

Getting Started with IBM Systems Director
IBM Systems Director server will be installed on a clients PC and will be used to demonstrate various systems management functions and features over a couple of selected client systems. A working demo of IBM Systems Director will be in place after this service offering is complete.
The offering will include:- Installation of IBM System Director Server on a clients designated PC
- Installation of agents and console on client's machines
- Run discovery and inventory scans of client's network
- Simple IBM Director demonstration (e.g. send an email when a system is unavailable)

WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment getting started
This offering is intended to assist moving from the WebSphere Application Server or WebSphere Application Server – Express or "Base" to WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment (ND). The ND edition provides scalability, high availability, and easier administration that is needed in larger installations or with mission-critical applications. Familiarity with WebSphere Application Server (Base or Express) is assumed. The customer is responsible for obtaining and installing the WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment product.
This offering includes:- Configuring a ND cell with one deployment manager, two nodes, two applications servers in a cluster, and an HTTP server
