For the convenience of clients, IBM provides the ability to order a full retail distribution of SLES 11 in conjunction with any of the following POWER5, POWER5+, POWER6 or POWER6+ processor-based servers or blades: System p, System i, OpenPower, BladeCenter, BladeCenter JS20, JS21, JS23, JS43 system purchase or hardware processor upgrade (with the exception of IBM eServer OpenPower 710 and the IBM eServer OpenPower 720). Clients also have the option of ordering SLES 11 directly from Novell SUSE, Inc. or their distributors.
The SLES 11 license charge units is per socket (for POWER5 and POWER6 one socket is equivalent to two processors or cores) regardless of the number of logical partitions (LPARs) that may be defined on the socket.
