Declaration of disaster


A "Disaster" is defined as an event that is recoverable from an off-site location only and has resulted from the unforseen loss of a Production Server's computing capability due solely to forces beyond your control. To qualify as a Disaster, such outage must be anticipated to last more than 4 hours, and must not be caused by, or otherwise related to hardware or software defect.

  1. Customer contacts local IBM Service
  2. IBM Service validates that outage meets criteria for disaster & instructs customer to activate processors on the Capacity BackUp Server
  3. Customer completes Declaration of Disaster Form (PDF, 19 KB)
  4. Customer forwards Form & a screen image of the Work with Temporary Capacity Screen to IBM Service
  5. Local IBM Service Manager Signs form
  6. IBM Service forwards signed form & screen image to TCOD@us.ibm.com
  7. The CoD Administrator credits customer account with maximum credit days granted under program
  8. The CoD Administrator informs the registered Business Partner of Declaration
  9. When primary site is operational, customer deactivates the standby processors on the Capacity BackUp Server
  10. Customer sends note to TCOD@us.ibm.com to inform IBM that primary site is operational
  11. The CoD Administrator adjusts the credit days to the actual days used (up to the maximum granted)
