VIOS and IBM i can be pre-installed by IBM on BladeCenter S with BladeCenter JS12 configurations. When IBM i is pre-installed, it is installed onto drives on the BladeCenter S.

The IBM TS2240 LTO-4 tape drive is recommended for backup and restores operations and is supported by the virtual tape function.
