IBM System Storage DS3950 Express
In a continuing effort to provide storage solutions that are designed to provide low total cost of ownership, high performance, robust functionality, and unparalleled ease of use and ordering, IBM offers the IBM System Storage™ DS3950 Express™. As part of the DS series, the DS5020 Express offers high-performance 8 Gbps capable Fibre Channel connections, optional 1 Gbps iSCSI interface for less demanding applications and lower cost implementation, up to 67.2 TB of Fibre Channel physical storage capacity, 112 TB of SATA physical storage capacity, and powerful system management, data management and data protection features. The DS3950 Express is designed to expand from workgroup to enterprise-wide capability with up to six Fibre Channel expansion units with the EXP395 Expansion Unit.

IBM System Storage SAN Volume Controller (SVC)
- New, high-performance Storage Engines deliver up to twice the throughput of previous SVC hardware and provide fully integrated, highly scalable support for solid-state drives (SSDs), enabling ultra-high performance for critical application data.
- New support for iSCSI server attachment helps reduce costs by reducing the need for fibre channel HBAs and switch ports.
- IBM Tivoli FlashCopy Manager provides integration between SVC replication functions and major server software to reduce backup and recovery times and improve application availability.

IBM System Storage DS5000 adds 1 Gb iSCSI support and nearly double the capacity with up to 448 drives on the DS5100; and first to market with 64 GB cache for midrange disk. IBM DS5000 Storage System features a high-performance architecture that delivers performance scalability in mixed workload environments and with the new SSD drive support reduces power and increases performance. A new high-density enclosure the EXP5060 provides 60, 1 TB SATA drives in a 4U footprint. IBM TS7700 Virtualisation Engine solutions have been enhanced to include support for 4-way Grid configurations. A 4-way Grid can provide a high-availability solution both in a production site and in a disaster recovery site. Other new features include support for both TS7740 and TS7720 Virtualisation Engines to reside in the same Grid, which provides back-end tape support for the TS7720 cache centric model.

IBM System Storage TS3500 Tape Library new firmware update will allow configurations with high-density frames to store at maximum library capacity: more than 20,000 LTO Ultrium Tape Cartridges (16 PB of uncompressed data), or more than 15,000 3592 tape cartridges (15 PB of uncompressed data), increasing total capacity up to 190% in the same system footprint. Other enhancements include key path diagnostics on the web interface, audit logging, and EKM communication failures.
