Announcing PM for Power Systems
PM for Power Systems is the new umbrella name incorporating all the functions of PM for System i and PM for System p. PM for Power Systems is put in place to support all the former models of the IBM System i™ and the IBM System p™ family of systems and all the new IBM Power™ Systems models. Consistent reporting formats exist whether you are running the IBM i or AIX®; and consistent terms and conditions apply across both operating systems. And in all cases, users still have access to the IBM Systems Workload Estimator for sizing upgrades, server consolidations, partition additions, etc., that are based on the collection of historical utilization and growth data provided by PM for System i or PM for System p.

Support by model type and software release
Support is provided for AIX (V5.1 – V6.1) and the IBM i operating environment (i5/OS). System hardware supported includes the previously available IBM System i and IBM System p systems. For the POWER6™ processor-based servers, PM for Power Systems support is available as indicated: IBM Power 520 Express – AIX or i Editions: April 2008; IBM Power 550 Express – AIX Edition: April 2008; IBM Power 550 Express – i Edition and IBM Power 570, 575 and 595: mid year 2008.
