AIX 5L™ for POWER version 5.1 with the 5100-02 Recommended Maintenance package contains optional memory affinity support. The memory affinity support recognizes the relationship between processors, memory, and multichip modules (MCMs) in IBM POWER4™ machines such as the IBM eServer pSeries 690. The support provides improved performance to some high performance computing applications. This document describes the AIX memory affinity support contained in AIX 5L for POWER version 5.1 with the 5100-02 Recommended Maintenance package.
