IBM Capacity Upgrade on Demand (CUoD) is a flexibility option on certain
IBM eServer™ pSeries systems that allows a customer to increase processor capacity available in-house when needed. The feature option can be ordered on a new pSeries 680, pSeries 660 Model 6M1 or RS/6000® S80 or ordered as an upgrade to these systems. When the option is installed, additional processor capacity is available at any time. A system's processing capacity can be increased in increments of two processors at a time by entering a command on the operating system command line. The processors become operational when the system is rebooted.
