The IBM PCI-X Cryptographic Coprocessor (Crypto Express2) feature for IBM System p™ servers provides a high-security, high-throughput cryptographic subsystem. Crypto Express2 is the only Cryptographic adapter that provides FIPS-4 Level security with tamper-responding hardware.

IBM PCI-X Crypto Express2 features the IBM Common Cryptographic Architecture (CCA) provides extensive support of DES and RSA based processes including many functions of special interest in the finance industry. Only IBM Cryptographic adapters provide support for CCA.

IBM Cyrpto Express2 provides FIPS Level 4 support, the highest level of security avaialble. FIPS is considered a benchmark for security in government, FIPS validation assures users that a given technology has passed rigorous testing by an accredited third party lab and can be used to secure sensitive information.
