Question: How many licenses will I need?

Answer: HACMP for AIX 5L and HACMP for Linux are server products that have one charge unit: Number of processors. The number of processors is the sum of the number of processors on which HACMP V5 will be installed or run.

The same rules apply to the optional features HACMP/XD for AIX 5L and HACMP Smart Assists for AIX 5L.

Ordering and billing is per physical processor, regardless of processor sharing ("sub-cpu LPARs"). A processor shared among multiple partitions counts as one processor.

This program is eligible for sub-capacity pricing, usage, and billing. Refer to the Product announcement for more information.
