The IBM PowerExecutive™ solution is available for selected IBM BladeCenter® and System x™ servers and allows direct power monitoring through IBM Director. This solution helps customer monitor power consumption to allow better utilization of available power resources.
This application software enables customers to trend actual power consumption and corresponding thermal loading of BladeCenter Servers running in their environment with their applications.
IBM PowerExecutive enables customers to monitor ACTUAL power draw and thermal loading information. This helps customers with:
- More efficient planning of new datacenter construction and or modification
- Proper power input sizing based on physical systems
- Justification of incremental hardware purchases based on available input power capacity
- Better utilization of existing resources
