IT infrastructure report reveals strategic changes

Seven out of 10 senior IT executives recognize IT infrastructure as essential in enabling competitive advantage or optimizing revenue and profit. But fewer than 10 percent of organizations are fully prepared to meet the demands of mobile technology, social media, big data and cloud computing.

In “The IT infrastructure conversation: New content, new participants, new tone,” the IBM Institute for Business Value surveyed 750 IT executives from 18 countries to investigate how companies view the importance of IT infrastructure, the investment they are making, and how they can better prepare for the future.

While many are only just beginning to leverage the power of a robust IT infrastructure, our survey identified a small group of forward-thinking IT leaders who are working to tackle next-generation IT infrastructure challenges.
