With PowerVM and POWER6 hardware, IBM i 6.1 applications can use IBM open storage, such as DS3000, DS4000 or DS5000. Open storage provides a robust, flexible platform for consolidating different workloads on a single storage subsystem. This technical workshop will examine open storage architecture and concepts, virtualization technologies involved, supported hardware and implementation steps. The workshop will also discuss performance and sizing specific to IBM i.
