With i5/OS V6R1 and POWER6 systems, i5/OS partitions can now host other i5/OS partitions. i5/OS is also supported as a client of the Virtual I/O Server (VIOS), which allows i5/OS to access DS4000 open storage. With this support, i5/OS clients can reduce costs, simplify the creation of test and development environments and use additional storage options. This workshop will explain the concepts and implementation of these new capabilities.

Audience

This is an intermediate-level technical workshop for IBM service professionals, IBM Business Partners, clients and other individuals who are planning or implementing i5/OS virtual client partitions or i5/OS attachment to DS4000 via VIOS.
