IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment V6.1 for i5/OS packaging information:

The packaging structure for this release has changed. You will notice that the number of media per box has decreased significantly making it easier for you to find what you need in a timely fashion.

  • Each offering is platform specific, except for a few necessary media that are in each box regardless of the platform it supports. No longer will you receive a shipment of disks for all platforms that WebSphere supports. You may order the media for more than one platform as long as you adhere to the multiple component version terms specified in the product license.

  • DVDs will be offered as a media choice. You can choose the type of media you want to use to install the products in the offering.

  • You will also find a Quick Start disk bundled with each offering. The disk contains an offering-specific list of products and instructions for performing a recommended installation.

Software license agreements

For example, two 4-way symmetric multiprocessor systems require eight WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment, V6.1 processor licenses.

On September 12, 2003, IBM announced software terms and conditions to complement the eServer® On/Off Capacity on Demand (CoD) offering. These new software terms and conditions enable customers to pay for select software products on a daily basis when they activate the On/Off CoD hardware offering for zSeries, pSeries, or iSeries.
