PTFs for WebSphere Application Server – Express, V5.0 for iSeries are shipped via a Group PTF. This Group PTF allows all prerequisite PTFs to be shipped and installed as a single package. The group PTF includes the most current group PTFs (most current at the time of ordering) for the following products:

• DB2/400
• Java/400
• IBM HTTP Server
• IBM Business Solutions

In addition to these Group PTFs, the Express Group PTF may also include additional PTFs which are not a part of any group PTF or cumulative PTF package. See the following topics for information on the Express group PTF number, required cumulative PTF package, required level of group PTFs for DB2/400, Java/400 and IBM HTTP Server, and any additional PTFs which are not part of a group or cumulative PTF package.

The recommended preventive service procedure for WebSphere Application Server – Express for i5/OS is to periodically apply the most recent version of the appropriate group PTF. All of the PTFs listed in a group PTF must be applied together.

Cumulative Package
This level (V5.0.2.18) of WebSphere Application Server – Express,V5.0 was tested with the V5R3 Cumulative PTF Package C6178530. You may be able to successfully run with an earlier or later cumulative PTF package.

WebSphere Application Server – Express Group PTF
The latest version of the WebSphere Application Server – Express, V5.0 for iSeries Group PTF contains fixes required to run the product and upgrades the product to version 5.0.2.18. The following is the Group PTF number for the WebSphere Application Server – Express, V5.0 for iSeries product:

The following command may be executed on the iSeries to display the current WebSphere Application Server – Express, V5.0 for iSeries product version:

• WRKPTFGRP SF99272
  • Specify option 5 on the option line next to the group PTF to display it. The output should be as follows:

    PTF group:		SF99272
    Level:		15
    Text:		WAS – Express V5.0.2.18 5722IWE
    Status:		Installed

  Note: The Level field is not the WebSphere Application Server – Express level. It is the number of times the group PTF has been updated.

Other Group PTFs
The following table lists the iSeries Group PTFs that are included in the WebSphere Application Server – Express Group PTF, along with the versions that were tested with WebSphere Application Server – Express, V5.0 for iSeries. You should have the listed versions or newer installed on your iSeries system. The WebSphere Application Server – Express for i5/OS group PTF always includes the most recent version of the group PTFs listed.
