WebSphere Application Server for System i

WebSphere Application Server - Express for i5/OS consists of:

• An application server run-time environment integrated with iSeries. The Application Server - Express  is a subset of the application server shipped with the WebSphere Application Server 5.1 iSeries product. It includes a subset of the application server administrative console with online help text.
• An administration GUI interface that is integrated with the current OS/400 web-based administration console for the IBM HTTP Server product (5722-DG1). The integrated GUI interface can administer HTTP Web servers (Powered by Apache) and application servers ASF Tomcat and Application Server - Express. The GUI interface includes online help text.
• WebSphere Development Studio Client (WDSC) development tools. These development tools are the same tools included with IBM WebSphere Studio (WDS). Please refer to the WDSC product for installation and usage of these tools.
• IBM Telephone Directory V5.2 and IBM Welcome Page for iSeries V1.1 business applications.  These are out of the box, ready to use applications that are ready to be incorporated into the day to day activities of a business.
• DB2 Web Services sample application and runtime. The sample application introduces an easy to use, rapid deployment DB2 access framework. The runtime for the framework is also shipped as part of the Express offering.
