The TCP/IP protocols include standards for many common applications. Some TCP/IP applications, such as FTP (file transfer protocol) and TELNET (terminal emulation), are commonly known. Others are newer and perhaps less familiar. Still others are intended primarily to facilitate network administration. This topic provides an overview of the TCP/IP applications that are included with TCP/IP on IBM i support.
