For all Sametime releases, you must install all of the required fixes. See Sametime for IBM i: What System Fixes are Required? (technote #1089996).

Support for Sametime 7.5.1 ends on September 30, 2011.
Cumulative Fix 2 (CF2) is the latest major fixpack for 7.5.1 and is highly recommended. See About IBM Lotus Sametime 7.5.1 CF2 (technote #1306244).
7.5.1 CF2 includes all of the fixes previously shipped in 7.5.1 CF1 and the updates necessary to run IBM i 7.1. See Enabling Lotus Sametime 7.5.1 for i5/OS V6R1 (technote #1295262).
Support for Sametime 7.5 ends on September 30, 2011.
Cumulative Fix 1 (CF1) is highly recommended for all Sametime 7.5 installations. See About IBM Lotus Sametime 7.5 CF1 (technote #1247738).
Lotus Sametime Gateway 7.5 Service Pack 1 (SP1) extends the Sametime Gateway to allow Sametime users to exchange instant messaging and presence information with the Yahoo! Messenger community.
Support for Sametime 7.0 ends on September 30, 2011.
