About Lotus Sametime 7.0 for i5/OS
- The previous release of this product was named IBM Lotus Instant Messaging and Web Conferencing 6.5.1 for iSeries. For this release, the product has been renamed to IBM Lotus Sametime 7 for i5/OS.
- The product has been repackaged in order to support two separate offerings of Lotus Sametime:
Lotus Sametime, Instant Messaging Limited Use
Customers who are entitled to the Instant Messaging Limited Use version of Lotus Sametime receive and install only the *BASE product option of Lotus Sametime (5724J23). This provides the capability to create and configure Sametime servers that support instant messaging, but not Web conferencing.
Lotus Sametime
Customers who are entitled to the full version of Lotus Sametime receive and install *BASE and Option 1 of Lotus Sametime. This provides the capability to create and configure Sametime servers that support both instant messaging and Web conferencing.
- The product identifier for previous releases was 5733LST. The new product identifier for Lotus Sametime 7 is 5724J23.
What's new in Sametime 7.0?
- New Test Conference connectivity utility: The Test Conference utility is redesigned for Sametime 7.0 to enhance its usability and troubleshooting capabilities.

Macintosh version of Sametime Connect client: The Sametime server CD includes a Java version of the Sametime Connect client called "Macintosh Sametime Connect for the desktop." This version of Sametime Connect can run as a standalone application on Macintosh operating systems.

Full integration of instant messaging with Lotus Domino: The Sametime 7.0 release supports the integration of instant messaging and presence features into the user interfaces of the following Domino features:
- Calendaring and scheduling features of the Lotus Notes client
- To Do list feature of the Lotus Notes client
- Personal Address Book
- Domino Directory
- Team Rooms
- Discussion databases

Name Conversion Utility: this utility is now an integrated part of Sametime 7.0, rather than a separate download. When you make updates to user and group name data in the Sametime server directory, use this utility to make the same updates in Sametime Connect client buddy lists and privacy lists.
