InfoPrint Server for System i allows you to:

  • Fully customize output delivery with Intelligent Routing
  • Convert any standard IBM System i output file or segmented sub-file to PDF in real-text, full fidelity format
  • Provide advanced PDF services including integrated bookmarking, password protection, encryption, full color, and two-dimensional bar codes
  • Provide e-mail of any standard System i output file, integrating with most e-mail servers
  • Integrate electronic output segmentation in DDS or Create AFP™ Data command, enabling print files to be segmented into logical subsets
  • Provide two interfaces for intelligent routing functions—a programmable exit or an end user command interface
  • Integrate PDF and electronic delivery functions in System i Navigator and System i Access for Web
  • Transform PCL, PostScript®, and PDF print files into AFP
  • Convert standard System i AFP print files to Web-ready AFP files to facilitate intranet distribution in AFP format
  • Index System i print files for navigation with PDF and Web browsers, and with archival systems
  • Convert standard Internet image files—GIF, TIFF and JPEG—into System i image format
  • Dynamically transform embedded GIF, TIFF and JPEG images into PDF output
  • Handles full color document content from either AFP color (FS45) or ASCII color (GIF, TIFF, and JPEG files).

 Prerequisites

Software
InfoPrint® Server runs on i5/OS® Version 5 Release 1, or higher releases.

Hardware
PASE environment is required if you are using the PostScript®, PCL, or PDF to AFPDS transforms. The TIFF, GIF and JPEG to AFPDS transforms require a PC running a version of Windows®.
