Bring professional-quality electronic printing directly to the IBM System i platform with InfoPrint Solutions Company Advanced Function Presentation™ (AFP™) Utilities that create advanced documents through interactive, menu-driven functions.
Overlay Utility
Overlay Utility allows complex electronic form design, combining design elements like typographic fonts, lines, boxes, shading, images, graphics and bar codes to produce electronic forms. The design editor allows form design in visual, command or graphical mode. Since many applications produce data in row/column format, Overlay Utility prints forms in process with a row/column overlay grid to assist in positioning elements.
Print Format Utility
Print Format Utility, like an AFP version of Query for i5/OS, builds special reports or documents directly from the System i database to create full-page AFP output. The high-quality output features design elements like those in the Overlay Utility, specializing in bar code applications. The unique record and page layout feature of the Print Format Utility integrates the electronic design into the record layout. This allows you to automatically replicate the design, in any pattern, for multi-up page layouts.
Resource Management Utility
Resource Management Utility manages AFP resources, enabling you to create, print, copy, and maintain overlays and images. This utility can convert AFP resources into a physical file format for use with System i Access InfoPrint AFP Viewer Plus or other AFP systems. Resource Management Utility also processes image files scanned and created on a PC. Once the image resides in a shared folder, the utility can directly create a System i page segment with different sizes and rotations.
InfoPrint AFP Utilities uses the standard System i 5250 interface to design overlay objects to be used in IBM System i output applications. An additional component of InfoPrint AFP Utilities—Print Format Utility (PFU)—enables you to create fully graphical documents or reports directly from System i database files.
