 Net.Data for i5/OS
 | | |

|
In V4R2 and prior releases, Net.Data has always been a part of the IBM TCP/IP Connectivity Utilities/400 (57xx-TC1) software. In V4R3, Net.Data is part of IBM HTTP Server for System i software (5769DG1).
What does this mean to you? Nothing. You do not have to make any changes to your HTTP configuration files or the Net.Data initialization file. Everything should work the same as it did in prior releases, except in V4R3 you must install IBM HTTP Server for System i software in addition to the IBM TCP/IP Connectivity Utilities/400 software.
It should be noted that the DB2WWW program object in library QTCP now routes Net.Data requests to Net.Data code that is stored in library QHTTPSVR (which is created when product 5769DG1 is installed). There is a DB2WWW program object in library QHTTPSVR that does not perform the routing step and thus you may want to use that program object as the Net.Data CGI program. The performance impacts of using the DB2WWW program object in QTCP is negligible.
