Web services server engine updated!
The web services server engine has been updated for IBM i 6.1 and i 7.1. As a result, lots of features have been added, including the ability to uninstall web services while server is active, support for SOAP 1.2, and much more. WSDL2RPG released!
You can now generate RPG stub code from a WSDL file. You will require one of the following PTFs: SI43609 (i 5.4), SI43608 (i 6.1), or SI43607 (i 7.1). For more information, see updated client programming guide.

Software updates are now available for V5R4 to enable IBM i with integrated Web services support.

The Web Services Client for ILE Programming Guide has been updated. See the Prefaces section of the document for the list of changes to the document.

The Limitations Web page has been updated to clarify PCML restriction on parameter size (server) .

The getting started page for the server has been updated to reflect the ability to specify a name for the Web services server, and the getting started page for the client has been updated to reflect the ability to choose COBOL as the client program. You will need one of the following PTFs (5.4:SI41463, 6.1:SI41461, 7.1:SI41462). The Limitations page has been updated to clarify PCML restrictions (server) and the limited support for extensions (client).

New article about the integrated Web services support on i have been added. In addition, the Known problems Web page has been updated by removing the performance problem with Web services server when running a service under a user profile other than the server user profile. This problem has been corrected by PTFs SI35246 (release 6.1) and SI35245 (release 5.4).
