Mexico is not changing its Daylight Saving Time (DST) rules for 2007.
Prior to 2007, Mexico, U.S., Canada, and Bermuda shared the same time zone rules and could share the same TIMZON object. Now that Mexico no longer shares the same rules, i5/OS has created new time zone objects to support systems using Mexico time zones.
| Time zone description |
New QTIMZON value |
| Central Time |
QN0600CST3 |
| Mountain Time |
QN0700MST4 |
| Pacific Time |
QN0800PST3 |
|
Note: For customers who are in the state of Sonora and do not observe DST, you can use the time zone value of QN0700UTCS.
|
The updates for this support are available as:
- V5R3 PTF: SI26897 and SI26898
- V5R4 PTF: SI26896 and SI26899
Note: To have your system start to use the new time zone objects provided, you must change the QTIMZON system value after applying the PTF to specify the name of the new time zone you want to use.
Workaround: If you do not have the opportunity to install these PTFs, you can get the same behavior of the changed DST rules by manually changing your system.
