Overview Products IBM i integration Developers Support

Lotus Workflow is an enabling technology that eases the interaction of the right people with the right information; it is primarily used in applications requiring a review and approval cycle. Workflow extends the capabilities of Domino application development and facilitates the development and deployment of workflow applications built on flexible, collaborative, and structured processes. An intuitive visual interface lets you define approval routing rules, participants and their roles, and relevant workflow data without the need for extensive programming. With Lotus Workflow, you can standardize the routes for document approval and the names of authorized signers. You can store them separately from the content for easy reuse in new applications.

For general product information, see Lotus Workflow.

System Requirements

For the latest information about supported releases of Lotus Workflow along with compatible operating system and Domino versions, see the Lotus Software for IBM i Compatibility Guide (PDF, 325KB).

Notes

  1. Lotus Workflow integration with Domino Document Manager (Domino.Doc) is available on all supported platforms. To enable Lotus Workflow integration with Domino Document Manager, both products must be installed on the same server. Integration on platforms other than Windows requires version 6.5.1 or later.

  2. Lotus Workflow contains no iSeries-specific code so you do not need a special version of this product for iSeries. The same version that runs on Windows platforms is also supported for iSeries.

  3. The Lotus Workflow WebViewer displays images that represent processes, but the WebViewer does not run natively on iSeries. As an alternative, you can download and configure Remote AWT between your iSeries and a second machine that has a graphics card. The iSeries will turn over graphics responsibilities to the second machine via TCP/IP, allowing the WebViewer to display images. For more information, see Technote #1087938.
