  • Support for the IBM 2893/2894/9693/9694 V.92 integrated modem PCI adapter. To configure any of these features as a fax device, follow the instructions in the Administrator's Guide, specifying 2793 as the “Fax device model”.
  • Support for vertical resolution in inches on IBM #2805/#2806 V.92 integrated modem PCI adapter.
  • Improvements to processing of unique error recovery situations, including changes to prevent a fax communication failure.
  • Fix for a hang-up code which was not correctly handled.
  • Fix for a problem that caused Domino Fax to send partial pages.
    

Installation Instructions

1. Sign on to the IBM i server with a profile that has command line capabilities.
   
   
2. Run the following command to delete a save file called QFXD4503 if it already exists in library QGPL:
   
   DLTF FILE(QGPL/QFXD4503)
   
   
3. Run the following command to create a save file in library QGPL:
   
   CRTSAVF FILE(QGPL/QFXD4503)
   
   
4. Follow this link to download the update: qfxd4503.bin.
   
   “qfxd4503.bin” is a binary file that you will copy to the IBM i server using FTP or another file transfer method. Note the location where you store the file, for use in subsequent steps.
   
   Note: The file qfxd4503.bin is a SAVE FILE (type *SAVF) and is NOT a self-extracting executable. Do not attempt to run this file on your workstation.
   
   
5. Use the following instructions to transfer the file to your IBM i server and store it in the save file you created in an earlier step.
   
   You must have an IBM i user profile in order to transfer the file to the server. See your system administrator if you cannot proceed with this step.
   
   Note: The example assumes you created a save file on your IBM i server named QGPL/QFXD4503. Use the name you specified in Step 3 above.
   
   cd xxxx [change to the directory on your workstation that contains qfxd4503.bin]
   ftp [your server name or IP address]
   Name: [Enter your IBM i user profile name and press Enter]
   Password: [Enter your password and press Enter]
   ftp>binary [Enter binary]
   ftp>put qfxd4503.bin qgpl/QFXD4503
   ftp>quit
   
   The QFXD4503 save file for the Domino Fax update is now on your IBM i server.
   
   
6. To ensure there is no Domino activity when loading and applying the Domino Fax PTF, end the Domino server where you installed Domino Fax using the ENDDOMSVR command, WRKDOMSVR command, or using the Operations Navigator interface.
   
   
7. Run the following commands to install the PTF:
   
   LODPTF LICPGM(5733FXD) DEV(*SAVF) SAVF(QGPL/QFXD4503)
   APYPTF LICPGM(5733FXD)
   
   If any errors occur, review QHST and your joblog. Take note of errors for further troubleshooting.
   
   
8. Start the Domino server(s) using the STRDOMSVR command, WRKDOMSVR command or Operations Navigator.
