About: IBM Telephone Directory, Version 5.2
IBM Telephone Directory v5.2 is included in the set of enterprise Web applications provided by IBM Business Solutions.
At it's core, IBM Telephone Directory is a Web-based business application ready to provide alphabetical listings of names, telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, and job responsibilities of personnel within your enterprise.

Other information may be listed as well, including postal addresses, fax numbers, pager information, department and office codes, and even pictures! It also gives administrators the ability to manage the information that is listed.
Optionally enabled features include the ability to allow non-administrators to add new directory entries (referred to as "open enrollment") or to login to search, update, and remove existing entries.

Advanced features include the ability for you and your colleagues to initiate chat sessions and online meetings using links found on directory listings, and to manage your identity relationships for a single-signon environment when updating your directory entries.
Personnel information is stored securely in a shared directory provided by a lightweight directory access protocol (LDAP) server that may be located anywhere within your network.
Application Specific Features:
- search & view personnel information stored in a shared directory
- obtain directory listings based on department codes or by managers' name, or even list a person's management chain
- sort listings by name, telephone number, e-mail address, or job responsibilities (ascending or decending order)
- views include a photo of the individual (if provided) - photos may be enlarged and displayed in separate window (to show detail)
- add chat links to directory listings for Sametime instant messaging 1
- allow users to add directory names to Sametime buddy lists 1
- enable EIM registration and user identity management for your network's single-signon environment 2
- both administrator & non-administrator graphical interfaces are provided
- administrators can search, view & manage directory information - includes ability to add new entries, update & remove existing entries, and set/change passwords 3
- administrators can also configure application properties and enable optional features using a graphical interface 3
- allow new directory entries to be added anonymously ("open enrollment")

1 Uses Sametime Links (STLinks) Toolkit provided by a Sametime server.
