The use of the 2.0 GHz Pentium M Integrated xSeries Server (type-model 4812-001, feature codes 4812 and 4813), announced October 2004, will prevent LAN Operations Console from working on a single-tower i5/OS system. The Integrated xSeries Server takes up two card slots and requires the async adapter used for Operations Console to be moved to a new location. Also, LAN Operations Console and twinaxial consoles are not supported in this environment. This does not affect a system with multiple towers or a system using an HMC, where individual adapters can be tagged for specific functions.

Notes:
(1) If the 2.0 GHz Pentium M Integrated xSeries Server card is installed, then use C05
(2) If the 2.0 GHz Pentium M Integrated xSeries Server card is installed, then a LAN or twinax adapter card cannot be used

  • Operations Console and Windows XP Professional:
Operations Console is a component of iSeries Access for Windows. Operations Console is supported on Windows XP Professional with V5R2M0 and later iSeries Access for Windows. V5R3M0 iSeries Access for Windows can be used to connect to systems with V5R1, V5R2, and V5R3 i5/OS.
