System i Access for Linux allows customers to access the DB2 for i5/OS using its ODBC driver, execute System i commands with rmtcmd utility, establish 5250 sessions, and provide library and headers to build custom applications that can easily communicate with an i5 host.
System i Access for Linux V6R1 now provides:
- Remote Command Unicode API Support.
- IPv6 support for ODBC, Remote Command and other utilities ( emulator is not IPv6 enabled ).
- ODBC handle stored procedures compiled with different date/time format.
- ODBC extended indicator support.
- ODBC increased length of statement and cursor names to 128 characters.
- ODBC query storage limit.
- ODBC DB2 support for decimal float data type.

System i Access for Linux V5R4
This version supports additional 64-bit platforms (PowerPC-64 and x86-64). There are two packages available:
- 32-bit package: includes the 5250 emulator, the ODBC driver, and the Extended Dynamic Remote Support (EDRS) driver.
- 64-bit package: includes the ODBC driver and EDRS driver but not the 5250 emulator.
The EDRS driver is only available with V5R4 System i Access for Linux and not earlier versions. The V5R4 product is supported connecting to V5R4 and V5R3 i5/OS, and V5R2 OS/400.

System i Access for Linux V5R3
System i Access for Linux provides an ODBC driver to access iSeries database and a full-function 5250 emulator.
If you require the EDRS driver, use V5R4 System i Access for Linux. The V5R4 product is supported connecting to V5R4 and V5R3 i5/OS, and V5R2 OS/400.
