Customers ordering or upgrading their IBM i software to 7.1 and also ordering IBM i Access Family (5770-XW1) will receive:
- IBM i Access for Windows (5770-XE1, 7.1): available on your IBM i media with the standard set products. Using the 5250 emulation and Data Transfer features of IBM i Access for Windows requires purchasing a license for IBM i Access Family (5770-XW1). All other functions do not require a license.
- IBM i Access for Web (5770-XH2, 7.1): available on your IBM i media set with the keyed set products. All functions of IBM i Access for Web require a 5770-XW1 license.

For current 6.1 IBM i Access Family (5761-XW1) customers:
If you have a software maintenance contract for your IBM i, you can acquire the 7.1 IBM i Access Family products but keep your IBM i at 6.1 by ordering the 5761-SS1 refresh feature 6287. This feature delivers both the PC and server installation images. Formerly, these version 7.1 IBM i Access products were available to IBM i 6.1 clients with 5761-XW1 feature 6221 but instead are now available with 5761-SS1 feature 6287.
This refresh will provide the following 7.1 IBM i Access Family products:
- 7.1 IBM i Access for Windows
- 7.1 IBM i Access for Web

If you have a software maintenance contract for your IBM i, you can acquire the 7.1 IBM i Access for Windows product but keep your IBM i at 5.4 by ordering the 5722-SS1 refresh feature 6287. This feature delivers the PC installation image.
For current 5.4 IBM i Access for Web customers:
If you have a software maintenance contract for your IBM i, you can acquire the 6.1 IBM i Access Family products but keep your IBM i at 5.4 by ordering the media from the Publication Center at http://www-05.ibm.com/e-business/linkweb/publications/servlet/pbi.wss. The publication number is LCD8-0875-00. Note that there is a charge associated with ordering the physical media.

Ordering information:
IBM i Access refresh features are available for no charge for software maintenance customers. Contact your IBM Representative or an IBM Authorized Business Partner providing them with the appropriate refresh feature code from the table below and they will order the features you selected via the eConfigurator. The default delivery method is electronic via the Entitlement Software Support (ESS) website. Physical media delivery may be selected instead. There is a fee associated with ordering physical media.
Acquiring the software:
Once the refresh feature(s) is ordered through eConfigurator, the feature is made available to download from the Entitlement Software Support (ESS) website. If you ordered physical media, your media will be delivered to you. The following steps will help you download the software from the ESS website.
- Using the Entitled Software Support (ESS) website.
- Sign in with userid and password (or register).
- On the left hand side select Register IBM customer number.
- Enter your Machine serial number or Customer Number (Submit).
- Toward the top of the page, you should see:
"To continue working with your current customer numbers, click the following link." Click the link.
- On the My entitled software page, on the left hand side select Software Downloads.
- Enter your Machine serial number (continue to next page).
- Select 57xx-XW1 and continue.
- Select the software you want to download.

- Select a country and then Go.
- On the left hand side, select Search for publications.
- Fill in the Publication Number from the above table and select Go.
