Support for Linux on the IBM i platform is available from IBM and the Linux distributors: Red Hat and Novell.

IBM Support Line for Linux
IBM provides support for the Linux operating system through a Support Line contract for Linux. With a contract you get telephone or electronic access to our highly-trained technical support specialists, who can serve as your one source for remote software support services.

Red Hat Support
Red Hat offers standard and premium support for their Linux distributions on the System i family.

Novell Support
Novell offers standard and premium support for their SUSE LINUX distributions on the System i family.

IBM Software Maintenance for IBM i platform
IBM provides Support Line services for IBM i through the Software Maintenance contract. This service provides support for the integration of Linux on IBM i platform. For example, asking questions about logical partitioning or storage virtualization are covered by the IBM Software Maintenance contract for your System i solution. This contract does not provide support for the Linux kernel, Linux distribution, or Linux applications.

IBM i Updates
Before you install Linux on your System i solution, make sure you have the latest updates and fixes for IBM i that relate to Linux. From the System i Support Search site you can search on Linux related items.

Linux Technology Center
The IBM LTC works directly with the Linux development community with a shared vision of making Linux succeed. Information on numerous opensource projects is available from the LTC.
