The following options can enhance and complement your Linux implementation on the IBM i platform.

Virtual Partition Manager

IBM i has been enhanced with support for virtual partition management to enable the creation and management of Linux partitions without the requirement for a Hardware Management Console (HMC). With the Virtual Partition Manager a POWER5 or POWER5+ based System i server can support one IBM i partition and up to four Linux partitions with virtual I/O resources. VPM is a component of IBM i.
