IBM Technology for Java (IT4J) optimized for SAP is now available for IBM i V6.1. This new Java technology provides many benefits over existing Classic technology including: improved performance, reduced memory footprint, and increased throughput. More information about leveraging IT4J in your SAP NetWeaver environment can be found on this website and on the SAP Developer Network Community.

Welcome to the SAP NetWeaver Java on IBM i webpage. This page highlights important items when it comes to successfully implementing SAP NetWeaver Java on IBM i. The information found on this website is the result of testing in the lab as well as feedback from customers and is specific to the IBM i and its predecessors, the OS/400 and the i5/OS.
The information on this website is not meant to replace the direction and guidance from SAP, but rather to provide general recommendations that could be beneficial to IBM i customers. This website is also not meant to be all inclusive. The scope of this website is limited to SAP NetWeaver Java on IBM i basic configuration and does not cover areas such as installation, landscape design, etc...
Tuning and configuration recommendations are largely based on the Enterprise Portals Employee Self Service benchmark. Due to differences in configuration, workload, hardware, etc., results will vary. The recommendations on this site are meant to be a starting point for tuning a SAP NetWeaver Java environment and fine tuning may still be necessary.
The information found in this page is subject to change as more tests are completed and more customer feedback is received.
