Welcome to the SAP J2EE on System i webpage. This page highlights important items when it comes to successfully implementing SAP J2EE on System i. The information found on this page is specific to the i5/OS and is the result of testing in the lab as well as feedback from customers.

The information on this page is not meant to replace the direction and guidance from SAP, but rather to provide general recommendations that could be beneficial to System i customers. This webpage is also not meant to be all inclusive. The scope of this page is limited to SAP J2EE on System i basic configuration and does not cover areas such as installation, landscape design, etc...

Tuning and configuration recommendations are largely based on the Enterprise Portals Employee Self Service benchmark. Due to differences in configuration, workload, hardware, etc� results will vary. The recommendations on this site are meant to be a starting point for tuning a SAP J2EE environment and fine tuning may still be necessary.

The information found in this page is subject to change as more tests are completed and more customer feedback is received.

Attention

Before installing a new SAP NetWeaver system, it is strongly recommended to patch the SAP installation kit as directed in SAP OSS note 789188(NW04), 842115(NW04s), and 927734(NW04s SR1).

It is strongly recommended to upgrade your SAP NetWeaver 2004 system to at least Service Pack 17 (SP17). This SP level includes certain crucial fixes and patches only available in SP17 or later.
