IBM i offers three technologies that provide a powerful, flexible and highly
cost-effective alternative to Intel®-compatable server farms by providing a consolidated server
for IBM i applications and Windows®, VMware® ESX and Linux® services.
|
iSCSI host bus adapter (iSCSI HBA)
The iSCSI host bus adapter allows you to connect
standard 1-way, 2-way, 4-way, or 8-way IBM BladeCenter® or System x™ models to your IBM i
through an Ethernet network, leveraging the storage consolidation and
systems management advantages of the IBM i solution and providing greater
power and flexibility than the Integrated xSeries® Adapter and the Integrated xSeries Server.
|
Integrated xSeries Adapter (IXA)
The Integrated xSeries Adapter allows you to connect as many as 60
standard 1-way, 2-way, 4-way, or 8-way IBM System x models to your IBM i
through the High Speed Link, leveraging the storage consolidation and
systems management advantages of the IBM i solution and providing greater
power and flexibility than the Integrated xSeries Server.
|
Integrated xSeries Server (IXS)
Through the Integrated xSeries Server for iSeries, you can run
Microsoft Windows Server™ 2003,
Microsoft Windows 2000 and Linux servers and your IBM i in a single system footprint.
The Integrated xSeries Server is a unique product that puts the power of a System x model
on a single card that can be plugged into your IBM i.
