2.0 GHz Pentium M Integrated xSeries Server

On October 15, 2004 IBM® announced a new Integrated xSeries® Server for the IBM Power™ Systems family. This new Intel® server that is installed inside IBM Power servers has a 2.0 GHz Pentium® M processor, allowing customers to consolidate Intel server workloads running Windows® and Linux® applications or infrastructure. The low power requirements and dense packaging of this Integrated xSeries Server allow it to be installed inside the system unit or I/O towers of newer Power servers. This 2.0 GHz Pentium M Integrated xSeries Server complements the 2.0 GHz Xeon™ Integrated xSeries Server announced in September 2003.

* Each Integrated xSeries Server will consume resources on the Power server system. The actual number of Integrated xSeries Servers that a IBM i can support will depend on the available IBM i resources and the workload of the Integrated xSeries Servers. See  Chapter 17, Integrated BladeCenter® and System x™ Performance in the PDF file  System i Performance Capabilities Reference to determine the IBM i solution impact of integrating xSeries servers.
** The Total IXS in Main CEC number denotes how many Integrated xSeries Servers can be installed in the main system unit. Installing the maximum number of Integrated xSeries Servers may require one or more expansion towers.
*** The Total IXS and Total IXS in Main CEC numbers include other supported IXS feature codes for IXS models that are not listed on this page.
