This course provides the student with information required to safely and efficiently perform hardware service and maintenance on the IBM 4840 SurePOS 500 and 600 series point-of-sale systems. Topics include features and functions, troubleshooting, location of internal and external components, software installation, hardware configuration, and Field Replacement Units (FRUs) removal and replacement procedures. In addition, this course incorporates a detailed video segment demonstrating a complete teardown and reassembly of the 4840.
