Computing on Demand members may take advantage of IBM's high-end 3D visualization engine known as IBMDeep Computing Visualization (DCV). Already used by clients in the automotive, life sciences, aerospace and energy industries, DCV provides a scalable, collaborative, middleware infrastructure to help support and enhance the graphics functions of OpenGL software applications. Supported on both Linux and Microsoft Windows platforms, Deep Computing Visualization solutions perform business-critical visualization and collaboration tasks for many organizations around the world.

Graphics rendering may now be centralized in the CoD center so that remote clients do not need to have high-performance graphics capability to view high quality 3D images. Additionally, because only the pixels of the rendered graphics are transmitted over the network, valuable data remains securely inside the CoD center, radically minimizes the amount of data that needs to be sent over the internet.

*GPFS – General Parallel File System
With exceptional file system performance designed for the supercomputing environment GPFS for Linux on POWER, GPFS for Linux MultiPlatform, or GPFS for AIX 5L, can offer members high performance and enhanced data lifecycle management tools. Key strengths include:

  • Service offering to monitor system performance and help identify inefficiencies
  • Parallel file transfer and parallel I/O to single or multiple files.
  • Multicluster support,
  • Superior scalability and performance,
  • Ability to support extremely large files,
  • Failure recovery capability
  • Easy administration
