November, 2007—The IBM System Cluster 1350 — IBM's high-performance, high-density cluster solution — is now being offered with an impressive array of new server, blade, networking/switching, storage, and even operating system choices to better serve the growing needs of our extensive client base in High Performance Computing (HPC) and Business Intelligence.

Broadening the set of integrated components for industry-leading client choice, a range of new components is fully tested, integrated and supported:
- Extensive processor choices with updated industry range of
configurations built on Intel® Xeon®, AMD Opteron™, IBM POWER™ and Cell Broadband Engine™ processor-based servers. Clients can select new levels of performance for a broad range of HPC applications.
- Updated Linux® distribution support
for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.0 (RHEL5), with a strong set of Linux cluster capabilities, providing strong support with both RHEL5 and SLES10 for the Linux cluster offerings.
- Integrated support for Windows clusters
A whole new way to run clusters using the ServerProven® Windows® Compute Cluster Server 2003 (WCCS) for Windows operating system-based clusters.
- Linux cluster support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (RHEL5)
Extended support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, which complements existing Linux cluster capabilities with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 (SLES10).
- New storage options
New storage option with the addition of the IBM System Storage™ DS4200 complements the broad line of disk storage solutions, as well as the EXP3000, to address the needs of the IBM mid-market client base for high-end storage capabilities at attractive prices.
