The power study
Edison Group, an independent technology analysis and consulting firm, compared the power consumption of IBM BladeCenter with a comparable HP BladeSystem blade server configuration and found that both the IBM BladeCenter H and E chassis provide dramatic performance-per-watt advantages when compared to an equivalently configured HP BladeSystem c7000.
Edison Group also discovered that it takes approximately 31% less airflow to cool the IBM BladeCenter E when compared to the HP BladeSystem c7000.
