The IBM BladeCenter® HC10 ushers in revolutionary server-based computing technology for workstation applications by offering high security and manageability, while delivering outstanding graphics performance and full USB capability. Built-in features are ideal for engineering design applications (CAD), trading floor and other financial applications, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications, distance collaboration and more.
The HC10 is designed to provide hardware-based graphics compression and encryption that delivers high performance and security. Encrypted USB signals are transmitted transparently over the TCP/IP network to the IBM CP20 workstation connection device. No additional software or device drivers are required by customers for encryption and transmission of graphics and USB information over the network. This workstation solution is designed for Microsoft® Windows®.
Configuring the HC10/CP20 with the Leostream Connection Broker offers a flexible environment in which end users can access the HC10 from any CP20 with external authentication, such as Microsoft Active Directory®. Sharing a pool of HC10s among a number of users helps improve resource utilization. Functions such as Single Sign-On to an HC10 Windows session and USB access control give users an easy-to-use system while rigorously enforcing access control.
