IBM i 7.3 is a highly scalable and virus resistant architecture with a proven reputation for exception business resiliency. And now the IBM i 7.3 Technology Refresh 2, announced on February 14, features four key enhancements:
- A new model of the IBM Power System S812 designed for smaller organizations that do not need system virtualization.
- Enhanced JSON environment and new built-in functions to improve ease-of-use for SQL programmers.
- Open Source portfolio expansion including a "zero-configuration" database and new tools – wget, curl, rsync, sqlite.
- IBM i Access Client Solutions to improve filtering of spool files, SQL Scripts and CL prompter to improve flexibility and speed of development.
